ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig Launches XCarb® Precision Steel Tubes
ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig has launched a new line of precision steel tubes produced from XCarb® Recycled and Renewably Produced steel.
ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig has launched a new line of precision steel tubes produced from "XCarb® Recycled and Renewably Produced" steel. This new product, manufactured at the Schwarzwälder Röhrenwerk (SRW) in Altensteig, reflects ArcelorMittal's commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. The steel used in these tubes is made in an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) at the Sestao plant in Spain, utilizing 100% renewable electricity and a minimum of 75% recycled scrap, resulting in a 72% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to conventional methods.
To ensure transparency, ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig conducted a comprehensive Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) audit. The audit demonstrated that the XCarb® tubes significantly reduce emissions, providing an eco-friendly alternative for various industries, including construction, automotive, furniture, and shopfitting. "The Product Carbon Footprint provides full transparency on the emissions of the steel tubes used. This allows our customers to create a sustainable decarbonization plan for their company and make a real, verifiable contribution to decarbonizing the industrial supply chain," emphasized Arthur Kreidler, Production Manager at the Altensteig plant. Adrian Alecu, Managing Director of ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Altensteig, added, "With our new series, we help our customers significantly reduce their Scope 3 footprint. This demonstrates our commitment to assuming responsibility and ecological leadership in the steel industry."
This initiative not only supports ArcelorMittal's broader sustainability goals but also offers immediate benefits to customers seeking to minimize their environmental impact. The introduction of XCarb® precision steel tubes is a testament to the company's dedication to innovation and environmental stewardship.
